Walang hanggan ang magdamag ng makata at malawak ang kaniyang lakbay at pinagdaanan sa buhay na itinanghal sa marubdob na pagsasanib ng lungkot at pag-asa. Malawak ang uniberso sa seksiyong “Mga Piling Tula” na nagtatampok ng halos buong saklaw ng pag-akda ng makata. Malapit sa realismo ang pananaludtod ngunit ang sinematikong naratibo ang nagpapatangi sa mga ito. Tila katalogo ang buong aklat ng mga gunitang may poetika ng iba’t ibang uri ng disintegrasyon, pagkawasak, at pagkaligaw ngunit may mumunting bitak na pinaglalagusan ng samot-saring ningning, anuman ang pinanggalingan.
Hindi kalabisan na sabihing si Lamberto E. Antonio ay isa sa pinakamahuhusay na makata sa bansa simula noong dekada sitenta at ang kaniyang koleksiyon na Hagkis ng Talahib na nailathala noong 1980 ay may malaking impluwensiya sa mga sumunod na henerasyon ng makata.
