Three Year Picnic: An American Woman's Life Inside Japanese Prison Camps in the Philippines in World War II by Evelyn Whitfield
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
Evelyn Whitfield was married to a logging engineer working in northern Luzon when war broke out, and was evacuated to Manila while her husband Norman stayed behind in Baguio. Interned at Santo Tomas, she wrote the manuscript shortly after her release, describing camp conditions and her efforts to track down her husband, whom she was finally reunited with at Camp Holmes in December 1943. Whitfield set the manuscript aside for nearly fifty years before Premiere Editions Intl finally published it in 1998.
