The Naked Flagpole: Battle for Bataan from the Diary of Richard C. Mallonée
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
Richard C. Mallonée served as senior American artillery adviser to the Philippine Army's 21st Infantry Division, and his diary, one of the few detailed firsthand accounts of the defense campaign to survive the war, follows his regiment from mobilization through the fighting in northern Luzon and Bataan to the eventual surrender. The account continues through the Bataan Death March and Mallonée's years of captivity, ending in a POW camp in Manchuria. His son, Richard C. Mallonée II, edited and published the diary, with added notes and background, as Presidio Press released the book in 1980.
