The Mabini Art Movement by the Cultural Center of the Philippines
Out of stock
The Mabini Art Movement is the catalog for a 2013 Cultural Center of the Philippines exhibition curated by Pearl E. Tan, examining the postwar generation of painters who sold their work along Mabini Street in Manila's Ermita district. Influenced by National Artist Fernando Amorsolo, these artists were long dismissed as producers of cheap, crowd-pleasing canvases, but the catalog reassesses their place in Philippine art history. It includes short biographies and reproductions of works by the painters associated with the movement.
