Shadows from the Rising Sun: An American Family's Saga During the Japanese Occupation of the Philippines by Paul R. Lindholm
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
Paul and Clara Lindholm were missionaries at Silliman University on Negros Island when the Japanese invaded, and rather than wait for internment they fled into the mountains with their four children, at times living in caves. After a dangerous 90-mile trek through the forest, Clara and the children were evacuated to Australia by American submarine, while Paul remained on Negros with guerrilla forces until liberation. New Day Publishers released this account of the family's ordeal, subtitled An American Family's Saga During the Japanese Occupation of the Philippines, in 2009.
