Pinoy Pop Culture by Gilda Cordero-Fernando and M.G. Chaves
Out of stock
Gilda Cordero-Fernando, the Filipino writer and publisher who built a career chronicling Philippine cultural history through her GCF Books imprint, teamed with M.G. Chaves on this survey of Filipino popular culture, touching on komiks icons like Darna alongside the customs and social life that define everyday Filipino identity. Produced in 2001 alongside a companion show for the clothing brand Bench, the illustrated volume was one of several landmark titles to come out of Cordero-Fernando's decades documenting Philippine culture. She received a lifetime achievement award from the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 1994 for that body of work.
