Piang: The Moro Chieftain by Florence Partello Stuart
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
Florence Partello Stuart's juvenile novel follows a young Moro boy named Piang and two friends on the island of Mindanao, where tribal custom requires them to survive alone in the jungle to prove their manhood. Illustrated by Robert Robison, the story borrows its hero's name from the historical Datu Piang, the powerful Maguindanaon ruler known as the Grand Old Man of Cotabato, though Stuart's tale is a work of fiction rather than biography. J. Messner published the book in New York in 1941.
