MacArthur by Sydney L. Mayer
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
Sydney L. Mayer, a historian who specialized in illustrated World War II reference works, profiles Douglas MacArthur in this entry in Ballantine's Illustrated History of the Violent Century, part of a War Leader series that also covered figures like Patton and Stilwell. Mayer's portrait doesn't shy from MacArthur's vanity and self-regard, while still crediting his patriotism, personal courage, and skill as a commander, alongside a frank look at the political missteps that marked his later career. Ballantine Books published the 160-page illustrated volume in 1971.
