Lieutenant Ramsey's War: From Horse Soldier to Guerrilla Commander by Edwin Price Ramsey and Stephen J. Rivele
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
Edwin Price Ramsey, a 24-year-old U.S. Army cavalry officer with the 26th Cavalry Regiment, Philippine Scouts, led what is remembered as the last horse-mounted cavalry charge in American military history at Morong in January 1942. When the Philippines fell that April, Ramsey refused to surrender, joining the guerrilla resistance and eventually commanding more than 40,000 fighters while topping the Japanese Army's wanted list for three years. Written with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Stephen J. Rivele, the memoir traces Ramsey's path from cavalry officer to guerrilla commander and earned him the Distinguished Service Cross from General MacArthur. Potomac Books first published the account in 1990.
