Intramuros by Nick Joaquin
Out of stock
Nick Joaquin, the Philippines' National Artist for Literature and a Manila native who grew up amid the last years of Spanish-era Intramuros, edited this collection of tales, anecdotes, and reminiscences about people, places, and events within the historic Walled City. Nonoy Marcelo's "Aling Otik" comics run alongside the essays, and the book includes a map of Intramuros and lists of the printers and publishers once located within its walls, part of a wider effort with the Intramuros Administration to rebuild interest in the district after its wartime destruction. The Philippine Daily Inquirer published the book in 1988.
