In the Enemy's Camp by Suzanne Sparrow Watson and Kathleen Chapman Watson
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
Kathleen Chapman Watson was interned with her husband and two children at Santo Tomas University in Manila, one of more than 3,600 civilians rounded up when the Japanese occupied the city on New Year's Day 1942. She kept a diary in the form of letters to her parents through more than three years of internment, as conditions deteriorated toward starvation rations and the camp's Japanese guards drew up plans to execute the internees before the U.S. Army could reach them. Her daughter-in-law Suzanne Sparrow Watson wove Kathleen's diary together with the wider history of the camp to write this account, published in 2004.
