I Traced Rizal's Footsteps in Foreign Lands
Low stock: 1 left
The book chronicles Dr. Alip’s fascinating mission (assigned to him by the Jose Rizal Centennial Commission) to retrace the places in Europe, America and Asia travelled by Rizal. Acting like a true detective, Dr. Alip identified the many hotels, lodgings and private houses Rizal stayed in his many travels around the world. He revisited the big cities Rizal visited like Heidelberg, Berlin, Tokyo, London, Yokohama, Madrid, New York, Paris, and so on. Dr. Alip also traced the sea and land routes that Rizal traversed in his travels (Rizal travelled in style boarding first class steamers and trains). Rizal’s mastery of many foreign languages was a great advantage because he could communicate directly with many peoples around the world. It seemed that Rizal was truly the first Filipino world traveller, and a bon vivant at that.
