The playwrights, on the other hand, have also been declared great in their own countries, and are now brought to Philippine readers in their very own Filipino language. The translated works have been staged, but only to limited audiences. It is hoped that in the published form a wider audience can be reached by the plays and that they last longer in the readers’ consciousness.
