Digital Cinema in the Philippines 1999-2009
In stock
Tracing the technological shift from celluloid to digital, this study charts the rise of digital cinema in the Philippines from 1999 to 2009. Hernandez maps two distinct phases—introduction and innovation—and curates a body of digitally produced Filipino films, from Jon Red’s pioneering Still Lives to Mel Chionglo’s Bente. The book argues that digital tools radically transformed how Philippine films are produced, distributed, and watched, opening a new chapter in local cinema.
