"The Buscada Mortuary Chapel, also known as (Our Lady of) Mt. Carmel Chapel or Sto. Niño Chapel, is an old stone masonry structure with a detached bell tower built in 1845. A parsonage located at the right side of the chapel and at the back of the bell tower completes this mortuary complex. This chapel is under the supervision of Basey Church which belongs to the Diocese of Calbayog.
The Buscada Mortuary Chapel is located in Brgy. Buscada, Basey, Province of Samar, with coordinates: 11° 16 ́ 52.755"" N 125° 3 ́ 59.508"" E. It is about a half kilometer away from the hilltop main church of Basey, the St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church. The site can be accessed by land vehicle from Tacloban City through San Juanico Bridge in less than an hour. It can be accessed from San Nicolas St., across from which is the Basey Central Elementary School. On the right, a narrow row of lots separates the chapel from Libertad St. and the National Road that leads to Tacloban. The left side of the lot is likewise occupied, albeit by larger lots.
