Census of the Philippine Islands (Volume 1)
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
Volume I of the 1903 Census of the Philippine Islands, the first census to attempt a complete count of the archipelago's population and resources, was directed by General J. P. Sanger with assistant directors Henry Gannett and V. H. Olmsted, and compiled by the U.S. Bureau of the Census. This volume covers geography, history, and population, opening with sections on the islands' physical geography, climate, and volcanic activity before moving through the Spanish and American periods of Philippine history and detailed descriptions of the archipelago's Christian and non-Christian tribes. The full four-volume census, taken under the direction of the Philippine Commission, was printed by the U.S. Government Printing Office in Washington.
