Captured on Corregidor: Diary of an American POW in World War II by John M. Wright, Jr.
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
John M. Wright, Jr. graduated from West Point in 1940 and was assigned to the 91st Coast Artillery on Corregidor, where he was captured after the island's surrender. His diary, smuggled through repeated inspections over three and a half years of captivity, follows him through Cabanatuan and the brutal 47-day hell-ship voyage to Japan, during which roughly 1,200 of some 1,600 prisoners died before reaching port. Wright survived to be freed in September 1945, and McFarland published his account, built around that diary, in 1988.
