This book is a commentary on the provisions of church law concerning the sacrament of marriage (Cc. 1055-1165). The book is organized into ten chapters corresponding to the ten chapters of title VII of Book IV of the Code of Canon law of 1983. While it was prepared with the students preparing for the orgained ministry in mind, it has an extensive chapter on Consent, treating among other things C.1095 which deals with the maturity and legal competence required for marriage. This may be of interest to practitioners of civil law, for this canon is the basis of Art. 36 [psychological incapacity] of the Family Code.
