The Philippines Turns East by Diosdado Macapagal
Hurry up, only 1 item left in stock.
Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines from 1961 to 1965, wrote The Philippines Turns East the year after leaving office to explain the foreign policy he pursued in Malacañang. He argues that the country's future lay with its Asian neighbors rather than in dependence on the United States, the outlook behind his support for Maphilindo and the Philippine claim to North Borneo (Sabah). Much of the book reproduces the supporting documents in its appendices.
